Next Meeting on 2nd February – Competition “Symmetry”

Our next meeting is on Thursday 2nd February, and is the first competition of the year in our league.  This is digital only, and the theme is “Symmetry”.  Please send in your two entries as soon as possible (and at the latest by Tuesday 31st January) to Chris at cjg62(at)nildram.co.uk, resized to 1024×768 pixels, please.  Please note that to enter our competitions you should be a member of the club, and you can join on the night, if not already a member.  You can submit entries if you intend to join.

The second part of the evening will be devoted to a discussion on Flickr, in particular on our Flickr Group.

Please come along and bring visitors, all are most welcome.  We look forward to seeing you next Thursday, and to having lots and lots of images for the competition.

Next Meeting Thursday 19th January – AGM

The next meeting, on Thursday 19th January at 8.00 pm is our Annual General Meeting.  Please come along and have your say on how the Club is run.  Tell us what the Club could do for you – and what you could do for our Club, as well!  This is for new members and prospective members as well as for the old-timers.

Understanding DSLR settings

Following Steve’s presentation on Thursday in which he discussed the various settings on DSLRs, here is the link to the Stanford University web site for the photography course, with the super applets explaining how the various settings interact with each other:

If anyone has problems with the applets, please let Chris know at cjg62(at)nildram.co.uk.

Next Meeting Thursday January 5th

Our first meeting of the new year starts off with Steve Oakes helping us to understand all those settings on our cameras, and the different kinds of lenses available.  This is followed by Peter Phillips’ annual quiz, which is always most entertaining, if a little tricky!

Please come along and bring some friends and new members.
